REVISED plans have been submitted for the redevelopment of Buxton’s historic Crescent.

Although the project has previously been approved, the extensive changes mean a new application is needed.

Among the changes are alterations to arrangements for the spa which will now extend into a part of the basement of the Old Hall Hotel. There are also alterations to the new build aspect of the development including the location of the proposed roof-top swimming pool.

The public had the opportunity to look at the plans, and a model of the revised scheme, at an exhibition held on Monday and Tuesday at the University of Derby in Buxton.

On Monday evening Trevor Osborne of the Trevor Osborne Property Group explained the changes, the programme and the next steps to be taken.

He told the Advertiser: “It went very well indeed. I think everybody was quite impressed with it. I am hopeful that people will be supportive of it.”

The application, due to be determined by High Peak Borough Council’s Development Control Committee in September, can be viewed at or at Buxton Town Hall.
