Iguana tank causes house fire in Buxton

A blaze spread across a Buxton home after an iguana tank caught fire.

Buxton fire crew attended the call out at 4.21am today - Thursday, February 9 - on Lascelles Road.

A Derbyshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “The iguana was saved by crews and they used one hose reel jet and two breathing apparatus to tackle the fire on the first floor of the building.”
The crew left the scene more than an hour later at 5.35am.
