
The Met Office has issued a yellow ‘be aware’ alert of ice in the county between 6pm today and 11am tomorrow.
A spokesman for the Met Office said: “Showers of rain, sleet and snow into the night time period bring a risk of icy stretches overnight and into Sunday morning.
“The public should be aware of potentially treacherous driving conditions and are advised to take extra care.”
Yesterday, a car ended up on its roof after skidding on a road in icy conditions.
Emergency services were called to Lansdowne Road, Buxton, at about 10am after receiving reports of an overturned car.
The 28-year-old woman driver of the Ford Focus was freed by firefighters and taken to Stepping Hill Hospital for a check-up.
A spokesman for Derbyshire police said: “The driver lost control of the car on black ice.
“We urge drivers to be cautious when travelling in adverse weather.”
