Hundreds of potholes reported on Derbyshire’s roads

Derbyshire County Council has had more than 1,500 reports of potholes so far this month.

A council spokesman revealed on Wednesday that the authority had recieved 1,687 calls about the defects on the county’s roads.

In December last year and January this year, the council was told about a total of 1,996 potholes.

The Derbyshire Times has been contacted by several drivers who have voiced concern about the state of a number of roads in the area, including the 13 bends between Bakewell and Baslow.

Between December 2013 and January 2014, there were 5,364 reports about potholes, the council said.

The authority insisted it was dedicated to repairing them.
