High Peak Brown Owl reaches 50 year milestone
A volunteer with a youth organisation has been congratulated on 50 year's service to the community.
1st Combs Brownies held a surprise celebration for Brown Owl Janet McNicol, who has been a part of the organisation for 50 years - only one of a handful of guiders to reach this milestone.
She was given a special ‘50 year’ badge by the county commissioner the youngsters and guests joined in singing some if Janet’s favourite guiding songs. Janet was then presented with an owl planter, a book of handmade ‘thank you’ cards from the Brownies and an individually designed celebration cake.
