Help find the mystery man who paid for a mum's fuel in Buxton

A single mother who has recently lost her dad would like to find her mystery Good Samaritan who paid for her fuel after she forgot her bank card.

Hannah Stanton was making an emotional journey to see her grandma for the first time since her dad died at Christmas, as it was her little girl’s second birthday.

She left her Manchester home and filled up at the Esso Garage on London Road, Buxton, on Saturday July 23 at 11.10am, however she had forgotten her purse.

The 30-year-old said: “I was already really emotional because me and my dad, Colin, used to make the journey every week. He would drive and I would watch my little girl and I was doing the journey for the first time without him which was so hard.

“When I realised I couldn’t pay it made me more stressed. This man behind me just asked how much it was and paid it.

“Now I want to find him to say thank you and tell him how much his kind gesture meant to me.”

Hannah was in the shop with Rainbow buying her milk and raisins, which were also paid for by the kind stranger. Her son Felix, who was born six days before her dad died, was in the car with her brother.
