DERBYSHIRE Constabulary’s first intake of new recruits in almost two years were formally sworn in as police officers at a special ceremony held recently.
Fifteen student officers took part in the attestation ceremony at the Postmill Centre in South Normanton, which was attended by Assistant Chief Constable Dee Collins.
After swearing an oath of allegiance to the Queen, they were presented with their warrant cards and become fully fledged police constables at the end of 19 weeks’ training.
The ten men and five women come from Derbyshire and the surrounding counties. Three - Helen Spicer, Christopher Sweetmore, and Sarah Grocott - will serve in the Buxton Section.
