High Peak MP Andrew Bingham was on hand to draw the winning tickets in a raffle organised by the Hope Valley Fairtrade Initiative as part of Fairtrade Fortnight.
The prizes in the raffle were Fairtrade hats, created in Ecuador. Carry Somers, founder of the Pachacuti brand, organises trade from Ecuador to their shop in Ashbourne. The third raffle prize was donated by Alison Jackson-Bass, previously owner of Fairtrade shops in Hope. Both businesses create a link between the producer countries and English purchasers.
