Police are appealing for information after an antique rifle was stolen from a Buxton shop.

At about 3am on Tuesday March 29 three people broke into Maggie Mays on Spring Gardens. They used a rock to smash the window and stole the rifle from the window display.

They made off on foot along Spring Gardens and then appeared to turn off the street to the left and run through Waitrose car park towards Charles Street.

The gun, which has been deactivated, was manufactured by Mosin-Nagant.
