A choral society is offering people the chance to sing their hearts out at a summer workshop.
Glossop and District Choral Society will host the free summer event on Monday, July 1, from 7.30pm and 9.30pm at Central Methodist Church Hall, in Chapel Street, Glossop.
The group is a non–audition choir with more than 80 members which rehearses between September and May, singing a variety or modern and traditional choral music. The choir is able to offer workshop places for free as they are funded by a grant from the BBC Performing Arts Fund.
Chris O’Hara, of the society, said “Many choir members read music, but not everyone does – enthusiasm for learning is the most important thing. We’re looking for new bass and tenor voices and I’d encourage any man who would like to try it to come along to rehearsal and give it a go, or ring or email me if you’d like to ask about it.”
