Green-fingered volunteers from Sustainable Hayfield tidy up garden

Volunteers from Sustainable Hayfield went to Primrose Court Care Home, on Market Street, to help refresh the large garden area, and develop a facility for wider community use.

The project has benefitted from a £500 donation from Derbyshire County Council’s Leadership Fund, through Councillor Beth Atkins. She said: “It’s a great project which will benefit a number of people and has community involvement. I’m delighted the Leadership Fund can be used to support such worthwhile effort.”

Sustainable Hayfield volunteers, who want to ensure Hayfield will be looked after for future generations, helped to clear and thin out overgrown vegetation, relocate facilities and improve existing flower beds. The garden’s access was also upgraded.
