Grand switch-on of £20,000 lighting system at Buxton church

A new date has been announced for the unveiling of a state-of-the-art lighting system at a Buxton church.

The energy efficient LED lighting has been installed at St John’s Church to enhance the experience of visitors for a wide variety of events.

The grand switch-on had been due to take place on March 18 during a concert by Buxton Musical Society, which was postponed due to the weather.

It will now take place on Sunday April 8 at 7.30pm.

Previously purchased tickets will remain valid for the rearranged date.

The £20,000 lighting enhancement is a joint three-year project between the church and the musical society, with financial support from both the Bingham Trust and the Satterthwaite Trust.
