Glossopdale actress Julie Hesmondhalgh won a National Television Award last Wednesday, for the best soap performance.

The Corrie star left the serial drama last Monday, after her character Hayley Cropper, who had terminal cancer, took her own life. Julie, 43, told the audience at London’s O2 that she couldn’t have done it without her on-screen partner David Neilson, who plays Roy.
