She has been writing about Morocco for two years, inspired by her love of the country and its people. Her blog covers life there as seen through her eyes.

Alice said: “It is a long way from Hayfield, but it shares some characteristics of the Peak - the kindness and hospitality of the people and the beauty of the landscape.

“Also, everyone likes nothing more than to sit down and have a cup of tea. The weather, though, is a little bit different.”

Congratulating her on the award, RunUltra owner Steve Diederich said: “Alice brings a life and vivacity to everything she writes about and we felt she really captures the spirit of Morocco and what it is like to live, run and adventure there. She is a very worthy winner.”
