Fun in the High Peak to mark group's 100th year
A High Peak women's group has celebrated its 100th birthday with a party.
Chinley and Buxworth WI held its first centenary celebration on Saturday, March 4, with a buffet lunch attended by members, local dignitaries, speakers and guests.
Mrs Angela Phillips, president, welcomed everybody and the cake was cut by Mrs Jean Heyes, who was president for 20 years.
Further celebrations are planned, the next being a centenary exhibition to be displayed over May 13 and 14.
