This year’s New Mills Carnival takes place this Saturday (June 13), with trains the subject for this year’s theme.
The annual event promises an afternoon of fun and entertainment for the whole family, with further events scheduled for later into the evening.
The event starts at 12pm with over 50 stalls to be set out on the fields behind the Swizzels factory.
There will also be a number of fairground rides for all ages, food and drink, displays and more.
The street entertainment will start up at the same time for crowds awaiting the procession.
Then at 1pm, the parade will leave Market Street and make its way down Union Road and up Albion Road, turning right onto Wirksmoor Road.
Food and drink options on the day include Carly’s Cupcakes pop-up cafe, Arepa Arepa Arepa, Cafe Horchata, Hog Roast, Howard Town Brewery, Crepe Chateau and Bratwurst.
There will also be ample street entertainment encompassing everything from samba to stilt walkers.
On the parade ground, there will be a selection of fairground rides, as well as the Owl Man, Circus Skills, Bushcraft, and a huge array of stalls including Spring Bank Arts, New Mills Volunteer Centre, New Mills Festival, New Mills Leisure Centre, local primary schools, High Peak Donkeys, New Mills Juniors and many more.
