THIS was one short cut that didn’t save Buxton marathon runner Francesca Yates-Paterson much time!
Francesca, of Granby Road, Fairfield, took part in last weekend’s Virgin London Marathon in aid of Leukaemia CARE.
She completed the world-famous 26-mile course in a time of four hours and 48 minutes.
Afterwards, she said: “I really enjoyed it, although not so much after I reached the 25-mile mark because I was struggling a little. I just had to get my head down and get it done.”
Days earlier, Francesca and her son Oliver both had their heads shaved for charity at her workplace, Lasting Impressions in Buxton.
She is now only around £400 off her £2,000 target, and anyone wishing to donate can visit www.justgiving.com/Francesca-yates.
