Four-year-old hit by car

Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision which left a four-year-old boy injured.

The collision happened at 3.30pm on May 29 near to Gladstone stores on Gladstone Street in the Whitfield area of Glossop.

The boy suffered minor injuries when he was in collision with a blue car.

PC Gareth Podmore, who is investigating the incident, said: “Fortunately there were no serious injuries to the lad. He ended up with just bumps and bruises, but as you can imagine this was a traumatic time for him and his family.

“The driver of the car stopped but left without giving his details. I would like him to get in touch with me and I’m appealing to anyone who saw what happened to also get in touch on 101, quoting incident number 638/29/05/16.”
