First flower festival set to bloom after delay

St Peter’s Church in Fairfield is to hold a Diamond Jubilee Flower Festival next week.

A team of skilled arrangers will create displays to commemorate memorable events during the Queen’s reign.

The event, running from July 19 until July 23, will be the first flower festival held at the church since 1994.

Entry is £1 and refreshments will be available in aid of church funds.

During the Festival three concerts will be held at St Peter’s as part of the Buxton Festival Fringe.

On Thursday July 19 Chapel Male Voice Choir will perform, at 7.30pm, and on Friday July 20 at 7pm it will be the Panatonic All Stars Steel Band.

Both concerts are pay on the door, £7.50 adults, £6 concessions and under 12’s £3.

Then on Saturday July 21 classical pianist and guitarist, Dave Stewart will be performing. Tickets available at Buxton Opera House Box Office.

Refreshments will be available in aid of church funds.
