Firefighters tackle Hope Valley factory blaze

Firefighters have spent more than a day battling a blaze at a Hope Valley factory.

The fire involved 80 tonnes of tyre chippings in a hopper at Hope Construction Materials, in Pindale Road, Hope.

Fire crews from Bradwell, Hathersage and Buxton attended the scene at around 2.35am yesterday morning (Wednesday), as well as a high rise platform from Buxton and breathing apparatus from Staveley.

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was contained to the hopper and four breathing apparatus alongside two hose reel jets and one main jet have been used tackle the blaze.
