Firefighters tackle Disley house fire

FIREFIGHTERS from New Mills were called to the scene of a house fire in Disley on Tuesday.

The crew attended the property on Goyt Road at around 3pm.

A spokesperson for Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The incident was confirmed to involve a flue which had got too hot and set fire to a wooden beam within the property.

Thermal imaging equipment and stirrup pumps and rods were used to extinguish the fire.
