Firefighters battled a building blaze at Glossop

Firefighters armed with water jets extinguished a blazing building fire in Glossop.

The fire was discovered at a disused building on Hollincross Lane, about 1.10pm, on Friday, February 26.

A Derbyshire fire service spokesman said: “Glossop and Hyde firefighters were mobilised to the fire at the single-storey building.

“Four main water jets were used to extinguish the blaze.”

Crews were still damping down at 6pm, on Friday, to ensure the fire did not reignite.
