Firefighters battled a blazing flat

Firefighters armed with breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet battled a blazing flat.

The fire was discovered at the flat on Chapel Street, in Belper, about 11.30am, on Friday, January 26.

A Derbyshire fire service spokesman said crews from Belper, Alfreton and Kingsway attended the incident and extinguished the fire.

Crews also gave fire safety advice to neighbouring properties.
