Thomas, a Buxton Athletics Club member, died suddenly aged just 18 in 2013.

His family have created the Thomas Theyer Foundation to raise £500,000 in his memory to create two lodges at the Whitehall Outdoor Education Centre near Buxton to provide children and young people with additional needs the opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities during respite breaks.

The six-and-a-half-miles race starts at Whitehall Centre at 11am – the finish is also back at Whitehall.

Thomas’ mother Chris said: “Thomas was passionate about health and fitness and running was a major aspect of him keeping fit.
