A Hollinsclough hill farmer is hosting the first ever mud run and obstacle course race in the Peak District next month.
Roy Critchlow’s event, the Bog Commander, will take place on October 4 and 5 from Heathylee House Farm, and will involve crawling through mud, climbing up cargo nets and splashing through rivers.
He said: “The terrain up here, although spectacular, can be brutal. Bogs, steep hills and challenging weather make farming this land tough.
“There are a lot of people that like to challenge themselves in the great outdoors, I think we have the perfect location for them. We really wanted to make this event fun, so we are building fiendish obstacles into the mix.”
The race will be raising funds for Flash and Longnor Community First Responders.
