Fairfield explosive substance suspect released on bail

A person who was arrested on suspicion of possessing an explosive substance in Fairfield has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Thornsett Avenue was closed on Tuesday afternoon and a cordon put up after police discovered chemicals and other materials in a shed at a house.

The bomb disposal unit was called to the scene and assessed the materials.

They will now be disposed of.
