A pregnant Chinley woman has spoken of her distress after allegedly being shown a print out, of a post she made on Facebook, at a dental surgery.

Talisa Vernon, who is four months pregnant, commented on her personal Facebook account last Tuesday about how relieved she was to be able to use her maternity exemption card - which entitles expectant mothers to free NHS prescriptions and NHS dental care- at her next dental appointment.

But when she went for her appointment at Chapel Dental Care in Chapel-en-le-Frith the following day, she said she was shown a print-out of her comment during an incident which caused her to leave the surgery in tears.

The 24-year-old, of Buxton Road, said: “They started asking me if I was happy with the practice and what I thought of the prices before showing me my Facebook print out. At that point I just thought, what on earth?

She added: I just started crying. I’m feeling hormonal and really delicate.”

Simon Goulder, manager at Chapel Dental Care, confirmed Talisa had been spoken to about her Facebook post, but said he was unable to comment on the nature of the dispute due to patient confidentiality.
