Excitement is building at Twickenham ahead of today’s RFU Junior Vase Final between Buxton RUFC and Old Cranleighan RFC.

The game kicks off at 11am and large numbers of Buxton fans have made the journey south for the game.

Buxton come into the game in the best possible form having won every match they’ve played so far in a season which saw them romp to the Midlands Four East (North) title.

Speaking to the Advertiser ahead of the game, Buxton RUFC director of rugby Karl de Groot said: “We’ve had an incredible season but it won’t be the case that they’ll turn up and just expect to win. They’re well grounded lads and that’s something we’ve been keen to instil in them from the start.”

Buxton’s opponents play at the same level of the pyramid but in the Surrey 1 section of the London and South East Division. They too have won their league, finishing 12 points clear of their nearest challengers.
