Excellence award for animal park

Staff at an animal park are celebrating after being named a top attraction by a travel website.

The Chestnut Centre, in Chapel–en–le–Frith, received a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence award 2013.

The award honours hospitality excellence and is only given to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews on Trip Advisor.

Centre owner Carol Heap started the centre after looking after abandoned and injured otters in her back garden, said she was thrilled to receive the award.

She said:“We are very grateful to all the appreciative visitors who have supported wildlife conservation over the years by visiting the Chestnut Centre.

“We must also say a big thank you to our staff members, who are really committed to our animals and our aims and who always try to ensure that our visitors have the best possible experience and enjoyment.

“This award is welcome evidence that our hard work is translating into positive reviews on Trip Advisor.”

To qualify for the award, businesses must maintain an overall rating of four or higher out of a possible five, as reviewed by travellers.
