The former Derbyshire MP Edwina Currie, 68, has been poised to join the show after Only Way is Essex reality TV star Gemma Collins quit just three days after the series started on Sunday evening, November 16.

Edwina Currie, who lives in the High Peak and has strong links with Tideswell, is expected to be joined by X-Factor star Jake Quickenden.

Mrs Currie has been in bullish mood and has revealed that she will be ready to speak her mind in the camp especially if someone is annoying her.

She explained there is also likely to be some political voting with her past opponents voting for her to stay in and her friends will be voting to get her out.

Former Tory MP Mrs Currie, who was MP for South Derbyshire between 1983 and 1997, has previously appeared in reality shows Strictly Come Dancing, Wife Swap and Come Dine With Me.
