Top rating for High Peak school

AN Independent school in Dove Holes has been rated outstanding by Ofsted.

The Meadows School caters for pupils who have emotional, social and behavioural difficulties and received the education watchdog’s highest rating in its most recent inspection.

It is the second time the school has received an outstanding rating.

Headteacher Rachel Dowle said: “Our children have had very bad experiences throughout their school life, often having suffered bullying and generally experiencing negative attitudes and expectations of behaviour and achievement.

“We offer them the opportunity to experience success and the belief that they have the ability to achieve.

“Once they learn to believe in themselves they are then able to achieve to their full potential.”

The Meadows School, which has been registered for eight years, achieved an outstanding rating in all of the seven categories assessed by Ofsted.
