Dronfield pensioner airlifted to hospital after collapsing at Peaks beauty spot

An elderly gentleman was airlifted to hospital after collapsing at a Buxton beauty spot.

And air ambulance and Buxton Mountain Rescue Team were called to Solomon's Temple on Saturday afternoon, (May 7) by the East Midlands Ambulance Service, following a report of an injured man.

Both the land ambulance and Derbyshire Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance crews, including the aircraft's doctor, were on site and treating the casualty, a 74 year old man from Dronfield, near Sheffield.

Team members quickly responded to the Grinlow Car Park and assisted with a short stretcher carry to the aircraft which had landed on nearby flat ground. The gentleman was transferred into the helicopter and flown to a Sheffield hospital for further treatment."
