Preparations are underway for this year’s Disley and Newtown Well Dressing Festival.

The annual event will run from Saturday June 13 until Thursday June 18, at the Woodland Garden adjacent to St Mary’s Parish Church in Disley.

Lord Newton will open the event on June 13 at 2.15pm, while the Blessing of the Gift of Water, conducted by The Rev Margaret Owens, will start at 2pm on Sunday June 14.

Light lunches and afternoon teas will be served in St Mary’s Church from 11.30am, every day during the festival, along with music from noon onwards on June 13 and 14.

Car parking will be available at the Ram’s Head car park, with a free community bus shuttle service operating to the well between 1pm and 4pm on the Saturday and Sunday.

The Saturday will also feature well dressing demonstrations, plus the opportunity to create mini well dressing exhibits.
