The developers of a new housing estate in Chapel-en-le-Frith have agreed to a local resident’s request to name some of the streets after war veterans from the area.

Roads will honour Dambusters hero Flight Lieutenant William Astell, Second World War veteran Derek Eley, Jack Marriott, who was also a member of the Dambusters squadron and Brigadier Godfrey Goodman.

Local Edmund Bradbury is also seeking permission from 617 Squadron to use their badge on the signs honouring Mr Astell and Mr Marriott.
