The RSPCA is set to host a fun dog show in Derbyshire this month and is hoping pooches rehomed from the centre will join in the event.
The Paws in the Park dog show will be held on Sunday September 11 at Eastwood Park, Hasland, Chesterfield.
It has been organised by the RSPCA Chesterfield and North Derbyshire Branch and an array of fun classes will be held.
But organisers really hope that owners of dogs which have been adopted from the RSPCA Chesterfield Animal Centre will bring their pets along to the event.
Rachel Gray, branch manager said: “We have not held a dog show for almost three years and we are really hoping it will be a great success and lots of people will come along and support us.
“But what would make the day extra special is if dogs which have been rehomed from the centre also came along (with their owners of course!), so that everyone could see first-hand what a wonderful difference it makes to an animal when it is given a second chance with a loving new home.
“Plus we are all eager to see how these dogs are getting on with their new owners and find out what they have been up to.
“The dog show is looking to be a really great day and we have a host of fun classes lined up with everything from best vintage dog to happiest puppy.”
As well as the dog classes there will also be games, competitions, refreshments, stalls and microchipping at the event.
The event has been sponsored by a host of local companies and a huge thank you has gone out to everyone who has offered their support.
Admission is free and entry is £2 per class. All the money raised from the dog show will go directly to the centre and help all the animals there.
Registration for the show will start at 11am or dog owners can register online at www.chesterfield-rspca.org.uk
The show runs from 11am until 4pm.
