A council spokesman said: “Snow is forecast tonight so we’re gritting primary and secondary routes before it arrives.
“We’ll monitor the weather overnight and will continue to grit as required.”
The council came under fire over its gritting operation when heavy snow last fell in Derbyshire at Christmastime.
