A Derbyshire tea-room which was described as the ‘worst on Earth’ by users of an online travel website has been repossessed by bailiffs.

Dolly’s Tearoom, on The Stones in Castleton, attracted a host of negative reviews on Trip Advisor as a result of poor hygiene standards and the foul-mouthed, abusive and rude manner of the proprietor.

Last week, however, bailiffs were sent in to the property and changed the locks.

The tearoom became notorious after its bad online reputation hit the national press in 2014.

Its owner, Mike Clarke, told the Daily Mail at the time: “I don’t give a s*** what people have to say on the internet.

“The comments on Trip Advisor are just moaning prats being nasty.

“If people want to know what it’s like here they should come and see if for themselves.”
