OWNERS of Land Rover Defenders in the High Peak and Derbyshire Dales are being offered reduced price security devices as part of an initiative to protect their 4x4s from theft.
The move comes after a number of reports of thefts and attempted thefts in the area over the past few months.
Defender owners in the High Peak and Dales are now being offered Disklok steering wheel locks at a reduced price and are being encouraged to follow advice to help reduce the risk of having their vehicles targeted.
Land Rover Defender owners whose vehicle is registered to an address within the High Peak or Derbyshire Dales can take advantage of the £60 DiskLok offer.
Eligible motorists should contact their local police station, Safer Neighbourhood policing team or speak directly to PC 773 Bob Fox at Buxton police station.
In addition, Land Rover owners and other 4x4 drivers can sign up to receive details of relevant security advice and incidents at www.derbyshirealert.co.uk.
