Defend your Land Rover with free security marking kits

Land Rover owners can get their vehicles marked with hi-tech security gear for free to help defend them against thieves.

Derbyshire Dales and the High Peak have a low crime rate but when vehicle thefts do occur, Land Rover Defenders are often targeted.

Now police are looking to help Land Rover Defender owners living in the Derbyshire Dales or High Peak by encouraging them to take advantage of free property marking kits available at Bakewell Agricultural Centre on Monday, November 26 and Monday December 3, from 10am to 3pm.

PCSO Jonathan Taylor said: “When a Land Rover Defender is targeted, it can be extremely difficult to retrieve it if it is stripped into parts and then moved on.

“However, having several key sections of your vehicle marked with these hi-tech kits can make it so much easier to get those parts back to the original owner.

“Many owners will have had their Defender for a long time and might not have the latest security for it, which these kits provide.

“They also act as an excellent deterrent and can help to reduce the risk of your Land Rover falling into the hands of criminals.”

Owners must take their vehicle’s V5 form to the event to prove the ownership of the vehicle, and proof of their home address. They must also live in the Derbyshire Dales or High Peak area.
