A decision is expected to be made next week on plans to build 31 new homes in Buxton.
High Peak Borough Council’s Development Control Committee will meet on Monday afternoon to discuss the proposed development by Persimmon Homes, which is being earmarked for land off Macclesfield Old Road.
It is understood nine of the 31 properties would be affordable homes.
However, a council report which will go before the committee is recommending the application be refused, highlighting concerns over the loss of open countryside and the risk to protected trees.
Also up for decision at Monday’s meeting at Chapel Town Hall is plans for 27 houses on land at Batham Gate Road, Peak Dale, which planning officers are recommending be approved.
Councillors are being recommended to refuse a proposed development of six properties on land adjacent to White Knowle Road, Buxton.
