Vandals damage cars in Chinley

Police are appealing for information after vandals damaged vehicles in Chinley.

Overnight between 9pm on Monday, September 7 and 8am the following morning, vandals used a sharp instrument to scratch the paintwork of a Ford Fiesta, a Citroen C3 and an Audi Q3 which were parked on Buxton Road.

The paintwork on the passenger side of a Vauxhall Zafira, which was also parked on Buxton Road, was scratched between midnight on Thursday, September 3 and 6pm the following day.

PC Andy Crosthwaite, of Derbyshire police, said: “I’d encourage residents, particularly in the Buxton Road area, to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to us so that we can help to stop a crime from happening.”

Meanwhile, overnight between 5pm on Thursday, September 10 and 10am the following morning, vandals scratched the nearside of a black Ford Mondeo parked on Hadfield Road in Hadfield.
