A vandal who admitted damaging a car while in a drunken state has appeared in court.
Josh Stafford, 20, was brought before High Peak magistrates on Monday after previously admitting causing criminal damage.
The court heard that Stafford, of no fixed abode, was seen by a witness to jump on the roof of a car in Pikes Lane, Glossop, shortly before 8pm on October 27 last year.
Immediately after this incident, Stafford was seen by a witness to cross the road and hit a Volkswagen Polo – causing a “deep dent” to the vehicle, the court heard.
But, magistrates were told, only the second victim decided to press charges.
Stafford, who was unrepresented in court, said he had been drinking alcohol that night and could not remember the incident.
However, he did accept the charge put before him.
Stafford was given a six-month conditional discharge and fined £200.
