Three years behind bars for Buxton man found with Class A drugs and a knife

A Buxton resident has been jailed for 3 years 4 months after being convicted of possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply and having a bladed or sharply pointed article in a public place.

Anthony Edgerton was arrested by officers on Lightwood Road, Buxton, after information was provided by a member of the public. Following swift action and a joint effort by Buxton Response and Buxton Safer Neighbourhood Team, The 42-year-old was found in possession of a large quantity of Class A drugs and a Knife.

Edgerton, of Eagle Parade, Buxton appeared at Derby Crown Court where he was sentenced to 3 years and 4 Months in prison for possession of the drugs with intent to supply and possession of the bladed article.

Officer in the Case PC Lomas, said: “The incident involving Edgerton is an example of how we are dedicated to ensuring our communities are kept safe. Removing these types of drugs and weapons from Buxton is another step forward in safe guarding the High Peak from organised criminal activity.
