Shop staff threatened with weapon during robbery

Police have launched a manhunt after staff at a Glossop convenience store were threatened with a weapon during a robbery.

Three men entered Morgan’s, on Glossop Road, Gamesley, at 5pm yesterday (Wednesday) and demanded the employees hand over cash from the tills.

No customers were in the shop at the time of the robbery.

A spokesperson for Derbyshire police said: “All three of the offenders wore dark clothing and one of the men is described as around 5ft 6ins tall, and is believed to be carrying a yellow Ikea-style bag.”

Two of the offenders are believed to have ran away in the direction of Cottage Lane, with the third heading towards the playing green.
