Police appeal after attempted burglary

POLICE are appealing for information after an attempted burglary in Bakewell.

On Sunday, August 12 at 5.30pm, a woman went into her house on High Street, Pilsley after being in the garden. On entering the house she disturbed a man running down the stairs, police said.

The woman tried to stop the offender and he pushed her out of the way. The man then ran down High Street towards the Devonshire Arms pub. A burgundy coloured Fiesta was seen exiting the pub car park shortly afterwards travelling towards Baslow.

The man was described as white, 5ft 10ins tall, in his early 20s and was clean shaven. He was wearing a light coloured baseball cap, a grey polo shirt with a dark logo on the front, light coloured shorts and white trainers.
