Police appeal after air weapon shooting in Buxton

POLICE are appealing for information after a teenager was shot in the leg by an air weapon on Buxton Market Place.

The incident happened at around 7pm last night (Wednesday) as the man walked across the Market Place, somewhere between Nat’s Kitchen and Sainsbury’s, police said.

The 17-year-old initially went to Buxton Hospital before being taken to Stepping Hill Hospital and then on to Mansfield District General Hospital with a puncture wound in his thigh. His injuries are not thought to be serious, police said.
