A man has avoided prison after being found in possession of cannabis in a High Peak town.

Kieran Ansbro was stopped by police on Woolley Bridge Road in Hadfield and during questioning, handed over two wraps of the drug.

A search of an address on Merseybank Road in Hadfield, where he was living at the time, later discovered cannabis and associated dealing equipment.

The 23-year-old, now of Newton, Hyde, admitted possessing cannabis with intent to supply.

He was jailed for six months, suspended for two years, and given 100 hours’ unpaid work.
