Jewellery taken in burglary

A quantity of jewellery has been stolen during a burglary in Buxton.

The property on Leek Road was broken into sometime between 2.30pm and 3.30pm on Monday, June 2.

Police say access to the house was gained by climbing through an upstairs bedroom window.

Detective Constable Laura Weston, from Buxton CID, said: “We would like to remind people not to leave their windows open when they go out or if they are in the garden.

“Even if they are upstairs windows, access can still be gained.”
