Glossopdale men cleared of attempted murder

Two Glossopdale men have been cleared of attempted murder following a three-week trial at Manchester Crown Court last week.

On Friday, Michael Sierotko, 24, of Sunlaw Street, Glossop, was found guilty of conspiracy to blackmail between September 6 and 10, 2013, and manufacturing a firearm on September 8, 2013.

He will be sentenced on September 19.

Sierotko and his co-defendant Anthony Leonard, 26, of Mouselow Close, Hadfield, were cleared of the attempted murder of Neil Hazelwood on September 8, 2013 and conspiracy to kidnap on September 6, 2013.

The victim, of Bury, was reported missing and later found with a gunshot wound in his chest in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire.
