Fairfield stabbing: 28-year-old male in ‘serious but stable condition’

A 28-year-old man found stabbed in the chest in Fairfield remains in hospital in a ‘serious but stable’ condition.

Police swooped on Farfield Road yesterday (Thursday) at 12.15pm after reports that a man had been injured during an attempted robbery.

On arrival officers located a man with a stab wound to his chest - who was taken to Manchester Royal Hospital for treatment to his injuries.

Detectives are still probing the circumstances surrounding the attack but have yet to make an arrest.

A spokesman said enquiries were carried out yesterday with crimes scenes in Windsor Road, Victoria Park Road and Fairfield Road - adding that residents would see an increased police presence as the investigation continues.

Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident – especially any drivers with dashcam footage and homeowners with CCTV that may have captured footage that may assist with the investigation.
